Your general dentist is a familiar face. They are someone you (should) visit twice a year and rely on for dental advice. Would you really have the smile you have today without them?
March 6th is National Dentist’s day – a day that every person is entitled, and encouraged, to celebrate. As healthcare workers, it’s important to show support regardless of the day of the year. But too often the dentists we rely on aren’t given enough gratitude and thanks for their expertise and dependability.
That’s why we set aside March 6th to emphasize our show of support to our dental healthcare workers! National Dentist’s Day is an opportunity to show appreciation for the general dentist who has kept your mouth healthy, as well as our orthodontists, oral surgeons, and pediatric dentists.
Although it’s a day to say thank you, it’s also a day to remind ourselves what good oral hygiene maintenance looks like! It’s about bringing awareness to dentistry and good dental habits so that more people can be encouraged to care for their teeth. It may even encourage others to come in for a check-up!
In addition to this annual holiday, did you know that March is Women’s History Month?
Women have played an important role in the history of dentistry. The first woman to practice dentistry in the United State is Emeline Roberts Jones. Because women were not allowed to enter dental schools at that time, Jones secretly provided dental services until her husband allowed her to join his dental practice in 1855.
It’s important for each member of your family to have a general dentist that they can turn to when it’s time for check-ups and cleanings. At Beyond Dental Health, you’ll find a caring and supportive team of professionals that are ready to provide dental care to your entire family. Specializing in general, family, restorative, as well as cosmetic dentistry, our dental practice is fortunate to offer a variety of treatments to meet all your oral health needs.
